July
July 4th, 2022 Sharon, Nate, Kenzie, Rich and Raylee made their way an hour and a half north to The Casoli Compound. It was a day of food, Family, fireworks and fun. Something we all needed a little bit of. We arrived early and we helped get everything set up for the firework show. Rich, Mikey and Wes all set up the fireworks on the trailer for the display later that night. As people started to trickle in we all met under the tents to have a huge feast fit for 100 people. As the day went on Raylee and Donnas dog, Jack, became inseparable. Nate milled about most of the day talking to various friends and family. As it got later and the food was all put away we all met around a beautiful fire to watch the fireworks. Sharon had quite a bit of fun with some sparklers. Finally it was time for the night to end, we all parted ways and went to bed. The next morning Sharon and Donna made us all a delicious and huge breakfast. John made everybody coffee and we all just kinda hung out for most of the morning. Eventually it was time for us to head home with memories from another fabulous Casoli 4th.
Last Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 Sharon and Nate made their usual trek into Boston after the most recent round of Chemo therapy to have his normal blood work and MRI done at Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute. After hours of being poked and prodded they finally met with the doctor. For once in this long journey the cottons were met with good news. The tumors had not changed at all. Now to some that may sound like bad news. How have they not shrunk? right? Wrong! No change is good news. With a cancer as aggressive and the speed in which it progresses, no change is good news. His tumors are stable. Nate had made the decision days before that it was time to ask the prognosis. He wanted to know the reality of the time the universe had given him. Once again it was good news! The doctor informed Sharon and Nate that she has had patients live for YEARS with stable tumors. YEARS! It was an answer none of us were expecting but we are so happy that was the answer. As usual most of the time it's the same routine. Sharon works, Nate stays home and hangs out with various friends and family. Over all its been an alright few weeks. Well that's all I have for you this time around. Enjoy the rest of your week.
